Letterboxing Guide
Letterboxing is a fantastic way to make an impact. By dropping campaign materials into the letterboxes of Franklin, you are helping spread the independent movement through the community. We need all hands on deck to hit every home in Franklin before the election!
[Letterboxing hubs will be fully stocked from Saturday July 5th].
How to letterbox
- Locate your nearest Letterbox Hub
The hub is a place where bundles of flyers and maps are held for pick-up.
- Eastern Shore: 70 Rosny Esplanade, Rosny
- Kingston: 5 Amarina Court, Kingston Beach
2. Visit your local hub and pick up your bundle.
Please note: The hubs are in secure boxes out the front of supporters’ houses. Please be respectful and avoid disturbing supporters more than necessary when collecting flyers.
At your local hub, there will be bundles of flyers with corresponding maps for different areas.
Choose a bundle from the area you want to letterbox, as well as a few spare flyers if there are some (just in case)!
3. Distribute your flyers to the letterboxes in the area outlined on the map.
Every letterbox gets two materials: a “How to Vote” card, and a “Peter George Flyer.
You can do this while walking your dog, listening to your favourite podcast, or chatting with friends!
4. When finished, return the map and any unused flyers to the hub.
And then repeat the process and get your friends involved!
FAQ
Which areas are we letterboxing?
The campaign team are letterboxing all metropolitan areas on the Eastern Shore (city of Clarence) and around Kingston (city of Kingborough).
Regarding rural areas (eg. Huon Valley, including townships like Huonville and Cygnet) we are organising an Auspost mailout to hit these mailboxes – so don’t have to worry about doing them by hand.
Do I have to follow ‘No Junk Mail’ stickers?
By law, these stickers are intended to prevent advertising material. However, political information relevant to the upcoming election is exempt. You are legally allowed to place campaign materials in the letterbox.
That said, we advise not letterboxing houses with ‘no unaddressed mail’ signs. Use your discretion and make the best decision you can.
